The rooms are big enough, and so are some of the rest rooms, however, the upkeep of rest room fittings is poor. Beds are comfortable, window curtains need to be stretched at times to enjoy privacy! Hot water is available between 7 and 12. Snacks and other food items are prepared fresh, and represent good value for money, however, the fare may not be very tasty or lip-smacking. Guess they do have a dine-in area, which is accessible by a flight of steps leading into a lower wing, below the reception.
The large balcony outside the reception area can be used for having your snacks, or enjoying the panoramic view of the Naini lake.
If you get down at the Tallital rickshaw stand, then you'll need to take a flight of steps and turn left, and walk a few hundred feet up the incline, and, then do a U-turn of sorts when you reach the zoo road to take the service lane leading to the reception and the parking lot. There's not much noise, but it's proximity to the zoo road means you can hear vehicles passing by frequently, not that it'll disturb your sleep.
If you have your own vehicle, then you need to drive up the steep zoo road, squeeze through the entrance (if you're in a large vehicle) and park it in the parking lot - takes some expertise to do so. You may take the help of an in-house driver, if you find it difficult to park you car in the modest parking lot.
The hotel does offer a pick-up facility, from the mall road, upto a certain hour in the evening. Elderly people will find the climb very stiff, but most people should be able to walk-up to the hotel, feeling less breathless, if they stop every now and then!
The owner's dog takes care of monkeys (and thieves) - can't remember the name. Mr. Shah, the owner, is a friendly person, and a good business man.
Overall a pleasant, if not a memorable experience, during all my visits to the hotel!
